recently people started asking about our philosophy and why we do what we do the way we do.
«what’s your motivation?»
«how come you value working with local community groups as well as high profile clients?»
«and what’s with all this tearing up magazines and playing surrealist word games instead of doing glossy client presentations like any normal design agency?»
¶thing is, there’s never been a masterplan, just an intention to listen to our souls rather than our bank manager. so none of this philosophy arrived fully-formed. it kind of evolved and in truth we borrowed almost all of it from people we’ve worked with, from family and friends, from the places where we’ve spent time and somehow it got all jumbled up in this package we call electric angel. and one day we stopped, and looked and realised it felt good.
¶so we wanted to share something in return.
¶and felt is it.
as with any gift we hope that it’s liked, kept [at least for a while], even valued and that something in it will resonate with somebody, somewhere. and feel good.
¶so we’ve got this idea that we’ll produce felt every now and then, perhaps on the cusp of a season, each time documenting and reflecting on the passage of time in different ways, inviting other creatives to contribute some of their work to it or collaborate with us each time.
¶perhaps now we’ll also be asked how instead of glossy self-promo material we hand out little booklets? but y’know - there’s more to life than gloss. maybe part of the answer is somewhere in this little booklet.
