rachel welford at electric angel

we’re into the final month of the first exhibition in our tiny gallery and we have had a steady stream of visitors. everyone has been very impressed by rachel’s work particularly the bespoke window pieces which have left people inspired to do a bit more with their own windows.

rachel in the electric angel gallery

all the work in rachel’s exhibition can be viewed at electricangelgallery.co.uk but better still why not call in and have a look. the gallery is open when we are in the studio – so most week days, or by appointment – just give us a call on 01723 363310. rachel’s exhibition runs until 15 may.

electric angel in whitby

i’ve been invited to deliver a talk in whitby tomorrow morning at green lane centre. it’s one of a series of ‘expert sessions’ organised by whitby community college and green lane with other partners in further and higher education. there are also a host of free courses accredited by the university of hull – you can check out the whole programme here. [my talk has been rescheduled from 14th march - that's why the date's wrong on the pdf]

if you’d like to hear me give a candid view of how we approach creative projects through examples of recent work you can see if there are places still available by ringing 01723 507284.

i’m also looking forward to seeing our logo design [part of a wider branding project for coast and moors voluntary action] up on the green lane building for the first time.

are you ready for the weekend?

scarborough literature festival programme cover

this weekend sees the third scarborough literature festival with a line up of thriller writers, poets and a strong bbc presence [including a cyberman!]. we were invited to design the programme and publicity material following our work on the festival last year which received some really nice comments.

because the festival is still something of a new kid on the block albeit one already developing a strong reputation, building an identifiable brand is important. to this end we recommended using a dominant image that had a recognisable relationship with last years ‘bookchair’ illustration. the illustration this year incorporates the festival title and dates as paper ‘stickers’. the travel stickers continue through the programme to highlight the themes running through the festival.
