ea to help launch yorkshire rural academy

yorkshire rural academy

we somehow failed to blog it at the time, but we were successful in winning the pitch to brand and produce printed and display material for the launch of yorkshire rural academy.

the academy is a collaboration between york st. john university, askham bryan college, craven college and lantra - the sector skills council for the environment and land-based sector. the academy aims to bring together a wealth of education experience to create learning opportunities that reflect the contemporary rural business environment. that means, for example, studying IT alongside agriculture or marketing alongside environmental conservation. the academy launches on september 27 in skipton.

the brief was to avoid the twee traditional portrayal of the countryside and instead present something more dynamic without ignoring the character of the area. an introductory leaflet is shown above as used at the great yorkshire show, the launch invite is shown below - the rounded corners echo the logo design so that in effect, all printed material is an extension of the logo. this idea extends to the format chosen for the print designs - the invite is the same proportions as the logo, the leaflet the same as the images contained therein. the gloss coating on both gives them a snazz (that’s a technical term…) and prestige more usually associated with an urban environment. we’ll blog the other work when the academy is launched.
