]]> By: adrian http://www.electricangel.co.uk/2007/05/04/helvetica-the-t-shirt-and-the-movie/comment-page-1/#comment-48 adrian Sat, 05 May 2007 22:13:23 +0000 http://www.electricangel.co.uk/?p=66#comment-48 oh, poor old comic sans. funnily enough i've been thinking about it a bit lately and i've come to the conclusion that it's not that it's such a bad typeface - it's just poorly used. and i understand why it's so popular - it's friendly and fairly easy to read and crucially it's free. so you can't really blame people for that. a little educating by the designers of the world would sort it all out. i kind of see it as the fleece of the typographic world. nobody looks stylish in a fleece, but i guess it's practical and comfortable clothing. but designed for walking on mountains surely, not for social occasions... but people still wear them for any situation. it's interesting to hear <a href="http://www.connare.com/comic.htm" rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow">the truth about comic sans</a> from vincent connare, the guy who designed it. i feel for the guy, he was just doing his job.
