the launch of create’s website reminded us of this poster design for the festival of light in 2005 - a create organised event. the poster folded down to a dinky little flyer, thus saving on the print costs of producing separate posters and flyers. two colours also kept the costs down and the reverse had more details of the events. we also produced a pure black and whitevariation that could be photocopied for last minute changes to the programme.

the festival of light was the idea of pete massey who was founder and at that point, director of create. pete’s since moved on to the arts council but let’s hope the festival continues. pete told me it was his creative response to the commercial onslaught of christmas - to bring some peace and light to the north yorkshire coast. there’s nothing more christmas-y than peace and light is there? nice one pete.
